With all of the sexual assault and harassment allegations hitting the airwaves, the industry, including Twitter, has been a total wreck. And to make matters worse, a lot of the conversation surrounding sexual assault has been awful, too. Victim-blaming and slut-shaming are being disguised in supposed apologies, further feeding into rape-culture. And it’s all disheartening to watch unfold.

Along with Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey, Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick, Star Trek star George Takei, and legendary comedian Louis C.K. are also making headlines for sexual misconduct allegations. And unfortunately, the number of accusations against other celebrities are increasing as the days go on.

Finding out that your former celebrity hero was allegedly involved in some criminal activity sure can put a damper on your dreams. Although pretty tough to do, many on Twitter wanted to try and lighten the mood a bit. While still focusing on the terrible goings-on in the entertainment space, and raising awareness of sexual assault in the industry, users also wanted to highlight some of the good that celebrities have done throughout the years. Because… balance. And, TBH, we need a little hope right now.

It all started when user “BAKOON” requested that his followers share some nice and memorable run-ins they’ve had with celebrities.

And that’s when the flood gates of positivity opened on the social media platform.

Twitter users told up-lifting celebrity stories about Gucci Mane, Mindy Kaling, Carrie Fisher, Bill Nye, Stanely Tucci, and more.

Celebs and fans alike joined in.

The tales of good deeds and kind words just kept rolling in.

Just when you started to give up hope on the human race, you’re reminded that there is still some good out there.

It seems like everyone needed this thread just as much as we did.
