Domino's Created a Pizza Engagement Ring Worth $9,000

If there’s one thing in this world that is loved universally and unconditionally (as long as no pineapples or kiwis are involved), it’s pizza. Though you can’t marry a pizza, one lucky Domino’s fan in Australia will have the chance to incorporate pizza into their proposal process in an incredibly cheesy way.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, Domino’s Australia is helping one (well, two, I guess) lucky pizza freaks tie the knot with a one-of-a-kind pizza-themed engagement ring with a retail value of more than $9,000. The diamond encrusted ring is shaped like a slice of pepperoni pizza, letting the lucky recipient know that the giver presumably loes them as much as a slice of Domino’s. According to the Daily Mail, the ring’s total diamond weight exceeds one carat.

As you’d imagine, this ring won’t go to just anyone. Domino’s Australia is giving it away via contest, asking hopeless doughmantics to fill out a form and submit a 30-second video explaining how they’d incorporate pizza into their proposal. I’d advise coming up with something more creative than just sticking the ring in the box, because that feels too obvious and might get the engagement ring too greasy before your beau tries it on.

This isn’t the first time a fast food chain has tried to shoehorn its way into an Australian couple’s nuptials. Last year, KFC offered to pay for, plan, and cater the weddings of up to six contest winners. At least in this case you can get some financial assistance while maintaining creative control over the wedding itself.

Sure, proposing with a kooky engagement ring is a big risk. But if you know and love your partner enough to know they’d be into it, then go for it. At the very least, the Instagram post announcing your engagement should be a hit.
