Dolsot House owner to open Korean BBQ restaurant in Mt. Laurel

Craig Vogt grew up in Mount Laurel and attended Lenape High School so it may come as no surprise that his new restaurant concept will be in his hometown.

Vogt, who owns Dolsot House in Cherry Hill, said months ago he’d be bringing a new concept to Mount Laurel and that time is drawing closer. His goal is to open in October.

He’ll open a yet-to-be-named Korean BBQ restaurant which he says will be different than the popular Dolsot House in Camden County. That spot serves Korean BBQ, Korean chicken wings and many other favorites.

“It won't be called Dolsot House, the menu will be much different, few staple items will remain,” Vogt said in an email message with the Courier Post. “We will be having tableside BBQ hoods, sushi, bubble tea, drinks. More modern Korean/Japanese twist, a mix of LA and NYC to Mount Laurel.”

Permits have been approved, according to a social media post

“We acquired the space at 3747 Church Rd, and we are SO excited for what we will be bringing to you,” the late June post read on the Dolsot House Instagram page. “Right next to Mt. Laurel Spirits, @wawa, near Lifetime Fitness.”

According to South Jersey Food Scene, the location has had Korean restaurants there since the early 1990s, most recently Dasiwa II and Kimchi.

Vogt told the Courier Post the 4,000-square-foot space, currently undergoing renovations, will be “like Korean steakhouse, sushi style. Not hibachi or Chinese or all you can eat.”

He said the project is being done by Lott Builds, a Shillington, Pennsylvania-based company that specializes in restaurant design and development. Lott Builds did Eddie V’s Prime Seafood in Cherry Hill, Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar in Moorestown, Victory Brewing in Philadelphia’s Logan Square and much more.
