Dolly Parton Is Starring in a Hallmark Christmas Movie This Year and We're Freaking Out
Hallmark is debuting its biggest ever Countdown to Christmas in 2019 with 40 new movies.
The network announced Dolly Parton will appear in an upcoming film.
Christmas at Dollywood will reportedly premiere this December, and also stars Danica McKellar.
Dreams do come true! Dolly Parton is officially starring in an upcoming Hallmark Christmas movie.
The country icon and red carpet queen will appear in Christmas at Dollywood, which is debuting this December, according to Entertainment Tonight. As the title suggests, Dolly won’t be the only star of the show—her amusement park, Dollywood, will also play a major role in the upcoming film.
The Wonder Years actress Danica McKellar is another big name in Christmas at Dollywood, and will take on the part of Rachel Lewis. Rachel is a single mom and Broadway producer who winds up in a tough financial spot. She finds herself producing the 20th anniversary show of the Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival at Dollywood, but, of course, a few problems await her.

The biggest is Luke, the entertainment director who doesn’t exactly see eye-to-eye with Rachel’s plans for the performance. But we’re willing to bet they find a way to compromise—and maybe spark a romance along the way.
Though Rachel and Luke will be the main focus of the movie, Dolly’s appearance is sure to be a memorable one. And if you’re wondering if the 9 to 5 star is as amazing in real life as she seems on stage, don’t fret: Danica assures she’s “the best person ever.”
“I love her. She is everything. I got to meet her—she is charismatic and gorgeous and lovely,” she told ET. “I’m so excited that I get to work with her.”
