The singer is cherishing the moment, 16 years later.

Dolly Parton shared a sweet statement about her role as Aunt Dolly on the Disney Channel original Hannah Montana.

The singer shared an adorable photo of her with Miley Cyrus from her first appearance on the show–which occurred in Season 1, episode 16, titled "Good Golly, Miss Dolly," according to IMDB

In the old photo, Parton, now 76, and Cyrus, now 29, smiled wide as they embraced each other for a loving hug while sitting on a couch from the show's set.

"Wow! 16 years since my first appearance on Hannah Montana with my sweet @mileycyrus. ♥️ Time flies! #tbt," she captioned the post.

Many fans took a moment to reminisce with the singer in the comments.

One fan excitedly exclaimed: "STOP IT RIGHT NOW."

Another fan mentioned that the show is actually what led them to discover Parton, writing, "Hannah Montana introduced me to you! ❤️ And I’m so glad!!"

"This makes me feel so old. I remember this like it was yesterday. You will forever hold the record of my favorite guest appearance on this show period!" someone else gushed.

After her first appearance on the show back in 2006, Parton reappeared in two more episodes: "I Will Always Loathe You" and "Kiss It All Goodbye."

"I'm famous now 'cause I'm Hannah Montana's, Aunt Dolly. Little kids just see me in the street and just point–'Aunt Dolly!' or ' Hi, Aunt Dolly!'–and it's just been so cute," the singer previously said in a statement about her time on the show.

Although the "Jolene" singer played Cyrus' aunt in the TV show, Parton is actually Cyrus' Godmother in real life

Back in 2020, the "We Can't Stop" singer spoke about her Godmother on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, "One thing I will always say about Dolly is, they said 'don't meet your heroes,' but she–that doesn't apply to her."

Cyrus continued: "When you meet her, she's like as incredible as you would've ever dreamed."
