As we take time to count our blessings this year, we'd be remiss if we left country music icon Dolly Parton off of the list of people we're thankful for. The 77-year-old singer took the stage during the Dallas Cowboys football game to celebrate the release of her new Rockstar album and kick off the holiday season with a very special performance.
Dolly performed classics like "9 to 5" and "Jolene," plus a cover of Queen's "We Are the Champions." It's all part of The Salvation Army's 133rd Red Kettle Campaign, which supports families in need this holiday season with everything from food to housing and bill assistance to Christmas presents for children.
Dolly looked incredible in the traditional blue-and-white Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader uniform (complete with midriff-baring top and short shorts) atop a glittery bodysuit. Who can say they're surprised that she completely rocked the outfit?
If you missed the performance, the NFL posted the complete halftime show on Youtube. Fans praised Dolly with comments like, "Dolly is truly American royalty" and "Dolly Parton NEVER DISAPPOINTS!! God bless you always, Dolly." Another viewer said, "Dolly’s heart toward giving to those in need is as huge as her performance. Americans love and thank her! Great halftime choice." One commenter wrote, "Dolly Parton is an American treasure!!! So thrilled to see her perform a halftime show for America’s team!!! She looked amazing in a Dallas Cheerleader uniform!!! Thank you Dolly!!! 🇺🇸"️
We're thankful for you, Dolly! And we can't wait to see what this living legend is up to next.
