Country queen Dolly Parton is here to soothe our souls with her hopeful new song, "When Life is Good Again." Released on Thursday, May 28, the song was co-written by Dolly and Kent Wells, and offers much-needed bits of wisdom and comfort during what is surely a time of hardship and sadness for many of her fans.

The lyrics make heartfelt promises for what life will be like after the pandemic, when families and friends are allowed to reunite and day-to-day tasks and responsibilities regain some sense of normalcy.

Dolly sings about the importance of friendship:

"When life is good again / I'll be a better friend / A bigger person when / Life is good again"

And later, about fixing her past mistakes:

"I'll open up my heart / And let the whole world in / I'll try to make amends / When life is good again"

In the music video, Dolly operates a vintage projector and views footage from life "before" the pandemic, while portraits healthcare workers on the front lines of the pandemic flash on the screen.

This is not the first coronavirus-related headline Dolly has made for herself. In early April, the country star donated an impressive $1 million to coronavirus vaccine research at Vanderbilt University. She also began virtually reading bedtime stories to children all over the world via her "Goodnight with Dolly" video series.

We can only hope she has a few more heartwarming songs up her sleeve!
