Few of us can ever hope to compose a hit song like Dolly Parton. But in all her Book Lady magnanimity, Parton has shared another set of potential hits with fans. For the third year in a row, January has meant a drop of new Duncan Hines & Dolly Parton Collection baked goods. This time, the all-star team is focused on breakfast, though there’s more to crave, including a pair of cakes.

The new mixes include cinnamon crumb cake, blueberry muffins and banana nut muffins. But arguably, the headliner is Parton’s buttermilk pancake mix. Though the box says “just add water,” there’s also a recipe included for Dolly’s Extra Special Southern-Style Buttermilk Medley Pancakes. One package allows a home cook to whip up 30 flapjacks.

The cakes that join Parton’s already famous banana and coconut flavors are her versions of classics. Dolly’s Favorite Yellow Cake Mix and Dolly’s Favorite Chocolate Flavored Cake Mix are inspired by her own moist homemade confections. The yellow cake is crafted using Madagascar vanilla bourbon, as well as natural buttermilk flavor. Parton’s rich chocolate treat includes natural espresso flavor to deepen the Dutch-process cocoa powder within.

Perhaps most exciting of all, however, a press release hints at more items later this year, which will include frozen foods “inspired by down-home comfort cuisine.” That could mean that even fans who don’t have a sweet tooth could soon enjoy some of Dolly’s favorites.

Parton’s collaboration with Conagra Foods (the parent company of Duncan Hines) is available at mass retailers and grocery stores around the country. The cakes are priced at $3.49. The muffin mixes are $4.40, while the pancakes retail for $3.99.

Real Parton devotees, however, will want to check out bakingwithdolly.com for the limited-edition, online-exclusive Dolly Parton’s Bake Like a Rockstar Baking Collection. For $40, Smokey Mountain Songbird fanatics receive a box filled with the blueberry muffin, cinnamon swirl crumb cake and muffin, and chocolate flavored cake mixes. To frost the cake, there’s creamy chocolate buttercream frosting. There’s also a Dolly Parton collectible magnet, a “Dolly-inspired” oven mitt, three keepsake Dolly Parton recipes and “a special note from Dolly.” The box is only available until supplies last and customers are limited to four per order.
