Forget about 9 to 5—Dolly Parton has been working around the clock!

While the country superstar is best known for her musical talent, she's also a generous philanthropist, talented actress, and prolific businesswoman. So, why stop there? As a longtime lover of books, Dolly has always dreamed of writing her own novel "one day" and adding another title to her ever-growing resumé.

Well, it turns out that "one day" is here! Dolly collaborated with famous mystery author James Patterson on a new book, and it has finally arrived. Here's everything to know about their new novel, titled Run, Rose, Run.

Where is Run, Rose, Run available?

The novel was published on March 7, 2022, in tandem with an album of 12 original songs.

"I cannot be more excited about the release of my very first novel Run, Rose, Run with [James Patterson]. I also have a new CD to go along with the book, based on its characters and situations," Dolly announced on Instagram. "I hope you enjoy the book and the songs as much as we've enjoyed putting it together."

The book is available at Walmart, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.

What is Run, Rose, Run about?

Dolly's first novel is a southern thriller that focuses on a young musician in Nashville whose heartbreaking songs hide some dark secrets about her past—a past that's catching up with her.

"From America's most beloved superstar and its greatest storyteller—a thriller about a young singer-songwriter on the rise and on the run, and determined to do whatever it takes to survive," the book's description reads. "Run, Rose, Run is a novel glittering with danger and desire."

The novel is a powerful reminder of the songwriter's greatness, ranking in its first two weeks as No. 1 on the top national fiction bestseller list and top 10 overall list by Publishers Weekly.
