Dolly Parton pulling the plug on her trademark blonde bombshell updo was not on my June 2023 bingo card. Alas, the singer has launched into a new era having done so. Enter: punk rock DP.

On Instagram, Dolly recently shared a picture (read: album cover) of herself in honour of two of her latest songs, which both come as part of the set list for her upcoming album, 'Rockstar'. The release date for this is speculated to be later on in the year, 17 November, 2023.

"Two brand new tracks from Rockstar are out now! “Bygones” featuring @robhalfordlegacy of @JudasPriest with special guests @nikkisixxpixx, @john5official and “Magic Man (Carl Version)” featuring @annwilson with special guest #HowardLeese are out now! Stream wherever you get your music ❤️🔥," she writes in the caption of her post.

It's giving 'Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers feathers in my hair' and we're not mad about it. Country pop Dolly, I'm sure we'll meet again...

Now, while the icon is, evidently, still rocking (pun very much intended) her signature bleached tone, her – what once was – sky-high beehive is nowhere to be seen. Instead, Dolly has opted to style her lengths with much less volume and in a side-sweeping 00s fringe. Not to mention those boho-feathered strands, ofc.

If her infamous nails weren't proof enough, let this look remind you how she is thee Queen of accessorising.

Glastonbury folks, take note for this is a festival hairstyle if we ever did see one! *Rapidly searches the internet for clip in hair feathers.*
