Dollar Tree's "Too Cute" Flower-Shaped Garden Lights Will Fly Off Shelves
With the warm and rainy spring the Old Farmer’s Almanac predicted, I’m expecting unbelievably beautiful flowers come summertime. (Already, the tulips and cherry blossoms are lovely enough to stop me in my tracks when I spot them on a walk around the city.) But if the flowers in your yard aren’t blooming quite yet or don’t last as long as you’d like, the Dollar Tree has an answer: These Floral Shaped LED Solar Stake Lights go for $1.25 each and add an instant dose of color to your raised garden bed, window box, or patch of grass.
The solar lights, with their green stems and spring-colored heads, look just like flowers sprouting out of the ground when you sink them into the soil. They come in a trio of colors — pink, purple, and yellow — so you can sprinkle a rainbow of lights throughout your yard.
And, according to reviews on Dollar Tree’s website, these “flowers” are hearty enough to survive the winter. “These are very pretty and the lights have been long-lasting. Some of mine came through a very cold winter (they were outside) and are still lighting up at night now that it is spring,” says one review.
However, some reviews note that these lights produce a pretty soft glow, so if you’re looking for a more powerful solar light to illuminate your yard at night, you may want to go another way. “They are pretty to look at during the day, but I was disappointed at the amount of light that they produced at night,” one reviewer notes.
Another suggests an alternate Dollar Tree find for those running into an issue with the brightness: “The light is very soft, though, so if you are looking for something bright, I recommend the solar sunflower lights.”
