Doja Cat's 2020 MTV VMAs Braid Was About a Mile Long

The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards are socially distanced this year, and it looks like Doja Cat is keeping with the theme by putting some distance between the nape of her neck and the end of her braid.

The rapper showed up for the affair in a slinky, shimmery holographic reddish-pink gown and a seriously long braid that nearly sweeps the floor. Doja's hair is slicked back and her plait sits low on her head, anchored at the base with a little bit of chain. 

Of course, her baby hairs are spiraling like mad, in an intricate pattern that is giving us strong visions of Hokusai's Great Wave off Kanagawa. When Nicki Minaj said "waves on swim," Doja's hairstylist felt that. 

The rest of the beauty look is pretty dope, too. The rapper was outfitted with a set of superlong, metallic, burgundy nails, which she showed off in a "red carpet" photo to frame her face — and draw some attention to the shimmery pink eye shadow look she wore with a sharp, thick cat-eye.

Look, the VMAs are certainly not what we're used to, but so far, at least in the beauty department, the celebrities are still absolutely bringing it. And we get it — we've been avoiding events due to COVID-19 for so long, any opportunity to dress up is obviously welcome. 

Doja Cat is slated to perform later on in the night, and we're pretty positive she'll be coming to the stage with another fantastic look. Guess the only choice now is to stay tuned.
