Dogs' Up-Close Encounter with a Mountain Lion Is Pretty Terrifying

We can't believe how they stood up to it!

For most dogs, their bark is much bigger than their bite. As for Zeke the Jack Russell Terrier, though, he's ready to follow through on any challenge he undertakes. Even if that means going head-to-head with a mountain lion.

Yep--this brave dog stepped in front of his fur siblings to tousle with the predator, and he's completely unharmed. When you first see the video from @trentdaves' TikTok, though, it may look a bit hard to believe!

Isn't that terrifying?! We're genuinely shocked (and beyond relieved) that little Zeke wasn't hurt by the lion or thrown from the ledge. It looked like he disappeared into thin air when the big cat swiped at it!

"Zeke just got body boxed into the shadow realm lmao," wrote commenter @stevealpine. LOL! We're only able to find humor in this now that we know the pup is A-OK, but we'd be lying if we said the tangle between dog and lion didn't look weird. We wonder what happened!

"Zeke has a condition I like to call “Little Dog Syndrome,'” said @brooklynnhaack, "where he thinks he’s actually the biggest and baddest boy and that cat had nothing on him." You're so right! Not even his fur siblings had the guts to do anything more than bark at the lion, so he must've felt the need to take action. Which he did!

Zeke's owner made sure to include an update video showing that the pup is just fine, but some pesky viewers gave him a hard time about the video being fake. So here's Zeke with the second update video--proving that he's as healthy as ever!

This feisty pup was super lucky to escape this mountain lion encounter without a scratch! He might've even saved his fur siblings (or even his owner) from getting the cat's attention, so we think he's a hero!
