Dog Waiting at Adoption Event Where No One Showed Up Due to Rain Is Breaking Hearts
We absolutely love that animal shelters will put on special events for potential adopters to come and see all the precious animals they have available. Plus, it's a good time for the animals to get socialization. But, unfortunately, not all of these events are successful.
One of the shelter dogs in Austin, Texas was so excited about a recent adoption event. You can see him with a big smile on his face in a recent video from TikTok user @goodboygonehome, but the sad reality is the rain kept people away. Grab a tissue for this heartbreaking story.

Ugh, that's not fair! This sweet two-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier named Drogo deserves to know what a loving home would be like. Heck, every single animal in a shelter should know that feeling. That's why we always preach the saying, "Adopt, don't shop."
"I would have shown up no matter what. It’s just rain people!" wrote @whos.rchel. That's what we're saying, people! And it didn't even look like it was that much rain. A little rain never hurt nobody! @messintheflesh added, "TikTok can’t keep showing me these puppies who don’t get adopted at adoption events I cry every time." SAME! That's why it's important to share these animals on social media in hopes a future adopter sees them.
