Dog Swims Underwater in Shiny Hair Goals GIF
Recently, we've realized that the best beauty inspiration isn't necessarily found on other people. While we never get tired of scrolling through the Instagram feeds of our favorite celebs, makeup artists, and vloggers, we've also realized that there's an entire treasure trove of glam gold quite literally right under our noses. Yes, we're talking about dogs again. Take Diesel Minnie (the pup who exemplified spa day goals, complete with cucumber slices) or the dog with the amazingly silky ear that made us rethink our highlights entirely. Most recently, Allure discovered an amazing video of a dog (allegedly an Afghan Hound, or maybe a mermaid dog) swimming underwater in slow motion — and oh my god.
To fully understand why this GIF is so amazing, all you have to do is watch it. First, an underwater background appears, complete with tranquil tones of dappled blues and greens. From the right of the screen, an oblong blob of what looks like wavy blonde hair approaches. Gradually, it rotates and unfurls, revealing a dog making sideways snow-angel silhouettes as it serenely swims by. Its fur is mesmerizingly silky, swaying by in slow motion like a clip from a shampoo commercial — if a shampoo commercial featured a furry blonde jellyfish. It's delightful. It's poetry in motion. It kind of makes us want to do a deep conditioning treatment — because all we really want right now is for our hair to also look this hypnotic.
