Dog Owner Has Comical Interaction With Kids Thinking Her Dalmatian Is Going to Work

Seeing a Dalmatian is very rare, which is why most children are first introduced to this dog breed from cartoons like 101 Dalmatians or Paw Patrol. And because of this, kids believe that Dalmatians are always supposed to be on a mission.

At least that's what TikTok user @maisydewey experienced on a recent walk with her Dalmatian. In the video, which was posted on Saturday, August 5, she explains that a few kids petting her dog Kipper were confused as to why he was just going on a walk.

O.M.G. Stop it! The innocence is too cute to handle. Honestly, if we were in these kids' shoes, we probably would've been asking the same thing. The only time kids see a Dalmatian these days is when the Paw Patrol character named Marshall is putting out fires and rescuing animals. That's not too far off since Dalmatians are the unofficial mascot for firehouses around the country.

Dalmatians ranked number 49 for the most popular dog breeds in 2022, up two spots from 51 in 2020, according to the American Kennel Club. Even though you don't see an owner walking a Dalmatian down the street often, you'd think they would rank higher with how everyone knows the dog breed. But despite the ranking, Dalmatians have slowly been gaining popularity since 2014.

One of the reasons why Dalmatians are becoming more and more popular could be the fact these dogs are very active. These high-energy dogs require at least one to two hours of exercise every day. You'd be surprised how fast Dalmatians are too. They can keep up with horses. SO cool!
