Anyone with a food-motivated dog knows the struggle of finding chews and treats that will last longer than a few seconds. Nothing less than a puzzle or slow feeder will keep my dog occupied for more than a few minutes. While typically I don't mind my pups scarfing down their treats, sometimes I want one that'll keep them busy for longer, whether I need to distract them from a storm or give them something to do while I work. I have yet to find anything that keeps them engaged as long as the Natural Farm's Himalayan Cheese chews.

I'm diligent about paying the cheese tax to my dog when cooking, so it's no surprise that he absolutely loves the taste of these chews. But unlike regular cheese, though, these treats are crazy long-lasting. I think it would legitimately take my dog an entire work day to finish one — if I let him eat it all at once. Alas, the mean Mom that I am, I usually take it away after 30 minutes to an hour. He needs his beauty rest, after all.

Made only of cheese, salt, and lime, these chews are ideal for pups with allergies or sensitive stomachs. They're gluten- and lactose-free and 100% natural.

What might be the coolest part about these chews is that they essentially double as two treats in one. If a small piece breaks off (you don't want your dog to swallow these), you can microwave it in some water to create a puff, aka a dog-friendly Cheeto.

These have been a game-changer for us for my dog who's scared of storms. We can give him medication to ease his anxiety, but that takes a while to work. If we forgot to prepare him with medication before the thunder starts, then we'll whip one of these chews out to distract him.

The chews come in four different sizes based on the dog's weight, so you'll want to be sure you get the right one for your pup. Getting a size too small can increase the risk of choking. And, of course, always keep your pet attended while they chomp away.
