Dog Mom's Recipe for Pup-Friendly Ice Cream is Both Delicious and Easy to Make

It's officially the dog days of summer, and everyone knows these are some of the hottest days of the year. Even our four-legged friends will be looking for ways to cool off, and it's up to their loving owners to help them out. Luckily, we found one dog-friendly ice cream recipe that's both refreshing and easy!

This three-ingredient recipe from dog mom and chef Brita Britnell's Instagram account--@foodwithfeeling--has us looking for the ingredients in our own cabinets. This delicious frozen treat is so versatile, and looks yummy for people, too!

This Golden Retriever puppy is the cutest little sous chef, and this recipe couldn't be more perfect. No wonder this video is going viral! Between the precious pup and the easy-to-find ingredients, we have zero complaints about the recipe or the tutorial.

All Brita did was mix 16oz Greek yogurt, 1/2 cup of applesauce, and 1/3 cup of peanut butter, then pour it into molds. Then, freeze! There are several recipe substitutions you can make, too, so this can accommodate a number of diets and flavor preferences. For example, try regular yogurt instead of Greek yogurt!

Brita recommends mashed banana or pumpkin puree if your dog isn't a fan of applesauce. Pumpkin is great for dogs and for solving canine diarrhea, so this treat could also be good for your pup! Technically, you can mash up any dog-friendly fruit for this part of the recipe. Don't hesitate to get creative--as long as it's safe for your pup to consume, of course!

We'd be lying if we said this recipe doesn't sound tempting to taste. It might be meant as an ice cream substitute for dogs, but who says it can't be a refreshing treat for people too?
