Dog Miraculously Survives 17 Days in Historic Snowstorm Before Reunion with Family

This story will restore your faith in humanity.

Lizbeth Berzinski was driving to the mountains in Big Bear, California when her car hit a patch of black ice and crashed. Her beloved dog Marlee was so frightened she jumped out of the back window and ran off. Berzinski chased after her but was unable to locate her pet. The family blanketed the Big Bear neighborhood with fliers and posted on community Facebook pages in hopes of finding their dog.

It wasn't until a local resident caught Marlee eating food left out for other animals that Jenny Shelton, who has conducted animal rescues in the area for over thirty years, and her son were able to track Marlee following her footprints. Watch the following video to see this happy pup reunited with her family.

It's so sweet how Jenny held on to Marlee as the storm passed, sending Elizabeth messages via Facebook once it was safe to bring her down the mountain. Losing a pet is such a worrisome incident, especially in freezing cold weather with a winter storm raging. The video says that this was Marlee's first real time seeing the snow, and we can bet this pup won't be in any huge hurry to spend any amount of time in the snow again.

Thank goodness both Berzinski and Marlee were safe after the accident, and Jenny and her son were able to rescue Marlee. Such a wonderful happy ending for everyone involved, but especially Marlee.
