Dog Goes Swimming With Humpback Whales in Stunning Video

Few things compare to the natural wonder of seeing a whale in real life. Watching your dog swim with them is an even rarer once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that can never be matched.

A golden retriever named Noodle got to live out many dogs' and humans' dreams by swimming with not one, but two humpback whales. An Instagram video filmed along Canada's Sunshine Coast showed the breathtaking moment Noodle came face-to-face with the majestic creatures in the British Columbia water.

The video is soundtracked by Michael Jackson's hit song "Will You Be There," the theme from the beloved 1993 whale movie Free Willy. At first, Noodle watches the whales from the shore as they move slowly through the water and spray water from their blowholes. Eventually, he decides to wade into the water and swim out to play with the whales himself.

After getting some quality bonding time in with the ocean mammals, Noodle swims back to shore and tries to follow them from land, climbing on nearby rocks to get a better view.

Commenters were delighted to watch the interaction between the two animal species in the unforgettable video. "We are so lucky to live on the West Coast. And Noodle is lucky to have enjoyed the encounter," one person wrote. "Noodle wanted to make whale friends," another remarked.

Another post included photos and video from the chance meeting, with one user noting the seemingly instant spark between the animals. "Noodle and the whales connected," they wrote.

Now is the time to cast Noodle in a Free Willy sequel.
