Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. went to the dogs over the weekend, and boy was it cute.

The Washington Nationals teamed up with Pedigree and Humane Rescue Alliance to help get local shelter dogs adopted as part of Sunday’s “Pups in the Park” game against the Atlanta Braves.

Pups and their people filled a designated section of the MLB stadium to watch the honorary “First Fetch” completed by Hero Dogs service dog, Cassie, and Nationals catcher Drew Millas, who tossed a baseball toy for the sweet yellow lab to fetch.

“She’s so fetching!” the team wrote alongside a video of the adorable moment on Instagram.

The first 2,000 fans to arrive also received their own ‘fur-st’ edition baseball cards featuring photos, personality traits, and fun facts about local adoptable dogs from Humane Rescue Alliance. Pedigree also waived all adoption fees for Humane Rescue Alliance dogs over the weekend.

Last but not least, all proceeds from the dog ticket sales will be donated to Humane Rescue Alliance.

Sunday’s event was originally scheduled for Saturday but was postponed due to weather.  It was the Nationals’ sixth and last “Pups in the Park” event of the season.

Don’t miss next year’s opportunities to take your furry friend to Nationals Park!
