Does the U.S. need an independent Fed?

The former heads of the Federal Reserve are calling for an independent central bank. In an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, the four former chairs - Paul Volcker, Alan Greenspan, Ben Bernanke and Janet Yellen - wrote that the U.S. central bank must be able to make decisions "based on the best interests of the nation, not the interest of a small group of politicians.” Jen Rogers, Myles Udland and Brian Cheung discuss.
