Spotify Wrapped has become a hallmark to every user who uses the audio streaming app. Spotify compiles the most listened-to songs, top artists, genres, and podcasts that a listener listens to that year. The feature has evolved over the years, where it became more sharable on social media sites with new add-ons like describing your audio aura, and it has become a namesake to Instagram stories and Twitter timelines alike.
So when does Spotify Wrapped come out? Here’s what the streaming platform has been hinting at and when we could potentially expect Spotify Wrapped to come out.
When does Spotify Wrapped come out?
Spotify Wrapped was released on November 29, 2023. It comes one year after Spotify Wrapped 2022.
On November 27, 2023, Spotify News account posted on X (formerly Twitter) “Wrapped is … close. So close.” The account is also encouraging user engagement with posts like. “It’s Wrapped prediction time… Who do you think will be your #1 artist of the year?”
Earlier in the week, Spotify’s AI DJ X also hinted that we should be expecting Spotify Wrapped soon. Safe to say that we’ll be sharing our top songs of the year in the very near future.
When does Spotify stop collecting data for Spotify Wrapped?
This year, Spotify clarified that they will stop tracking listens for Spotify Wrapped past Halloween. The official Spotify account tweeted in response to a now-deleted PopBase post, “Hmm, that doesn’t sound right to us. Don’t worry, Wrapped is still counting past Oct. 31.” So don’t worry, your Christmas listening won’t be counted, but your post-spooky vibes playlist will.

What does your Spotify Wrapped show you? Spotify Wrapped shows you a multitude of your listening habits of the year. Spotify Wrapped usually includes:
Your top artists
Your top songs
Your top genres and the amount of genres you listened to
The amount of time you’ve spent listening to music on Spotify
The number of new artists you’ve discovered
The number of countries your music has been played in
In the past years, Spotify also included fun features like your Audio Aura and what top percentage of listeners you are for an artist. Last year, Spotify included “Your Audio Day” which includes descriptions about your listening habits throughout the morning, afternoon, and night. it also includes 16 different Listening Personality types based on how you listened to music throughout the year. According to Spotify, the feature “not only tells you about the music you listen to but what that says about your music taste—bringing a whole new layer of personalization and insight to the entire Wrapped experience.” It works like MBTI tests, but for music!
Another fun feature included a feature that spotlights an artist’s message to their Top Listeners. Messages from more than 40,000 artists like Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, j-hope, J Balvin, and Måneskin were available in 2022 to lucky fans who reach the top percentage of listeners for that artists. With Your Artist Messages, eligible fans will get a personalized video feed from artists that thank their fans for supporting their music.
