What Does Boston Rob Actually Do for a Living?

From Men's Health

"Boston" Rob Mariano is well-known for his love story with fellow Survivor castaway Amber Brkich, but real fans also know him for his impressive four seasons on Survivor, the last of which netted him the million-dollar prize and title of Sole Survivor.

Boston Rob recently appeared on Survivor: Island of the Idols as an advisor to the new castaways, and he's also going to be a castaway on Survivor: Winners at War. His reappearances on the hit CBS show has led to a renewed interest in what he's been up to since he won and what he does for a living, and naturally, how much money the Survivor winner has in the bank. Here's what we know about Boston Rob's net worth.

Boston Rob won $1 million on Survivor.

Prior to his time on Survivor, Boston Rob went to Boston University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. He was working as a foreman for a construction company and serving as head coach for Boston University's Inline Hockey Team when he first appeared on Survivor: Marquesas at 25.

Rob later appeared on Survivor: All-Stars (where he met Amber), Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, and Survivor: Redemption Island, where he won the season.

Survivor winners get a million dollars at the end of the show but the prize money is heavily taxed, and the real take home prize amounts to about $580,000. However, Rob will have a chance at a bigger payday if he wins season 40, as the all-winners season has doubled its grand prize to $2 million.

Boston Rob's net worth is an estimated $1.3 million.

Today, Rob runs a production company called Murlonio Productions, and he also released an advice book called The Boston Rob Rulebook. He also had a brief career as a professional poker player, and he won quite a bit of money.

Rob has also appeared on a number of reality shows including Rob and Amber Get Married, two seasons of The Amazing Race, Around the World in 80 Ways, Sci Fi Investigates, and The Price is Right.
