Documents Unveil Proposed Gondola Linking Stowe and Smuggler's Notch

According to documents provided to the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, there are plans for a new gondola-style connector lift that will link Stowe Mountain Resort's Spruce Peak and Smugglers' Notch Resort's Sterling Mountain.

If the current plans are carried out, this lift would signify a significant milestone in collaboration between the neighboring ski resorts, providing a convenient mode of transportation for their visitors. Records obtained through a public request indicate that discussions regarding a shared lift between the two resorts have been ongoing for six years, starting shortly after Vail Resorts acquired Stowe Mountain Resort.

Ongoing discussions between the state and the two resorts have been positive, as evidenced by communications following their recent meeting in March, as mentioned in the documents.

Courtney DiFiore, the spokesperson for Vail Resorts, refrained from commenting on the plans and suggested that the response would be handled by the Smugglers' Notch team. At the time of press, there have been multiple requests for comment from Smugglers' Notch that remained unanswered.
