Jennifer Lopez Is Vulnerable Like Never Before in New Trailer for Her Netflix Documentary

The star revealed on Instagram that her latest project—a part of her ongoing partnership with Netflix—will be a new documentary all about her life. The upcoming doc is titled Halftime, a nod to Lopez's age, 52, and a hint at what her trailblazing career as a singer, an actress, and a business mogul will look like in the next half of her life.
The documentary will be released in June.
Halftime is set to premiere at the Tribeca Festival on June 8 and will be available to stream on Netflix just days later, on June 14. Lopez announced the news alongside a photo of the documentary's official poster, which features a shot of her very famous face in profile, looking ahead, with her hair slicked back.
"It's just the beginning," Lopez wrote in the caption.
What is the documentary about?
"Halftime offers an intimate peek behind the curtain revealing the grit and determination that makes Jennifer Lopez the icon she is, from her performances onscreen and on stages around the world, to her Super Bowl halftime show, to the recent presidential inauguration," an official press release announcing the project reads. "The documentary focuses on an international superstar who has inspired people for decades with her perseverance, creative brilliance, and cultural contributions. And it's only the beginning. Halftime serves as the kickoff to the second half of Lopez's life, as she lays bare her evolution as a Latina, a mother, and an artist, taking agency in her career and using her voice for a greater purpose."
The documentary announcement comes after another major milestone in Lopez's life. The "Waiting for Tonight" singer announced her (second) engagement to her rekindled love, Ben Affleck, in April.
"It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could've ever imagined … just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other," she shared in her newsletter, On the JLo, detailing the proposal. "Two very lucky people. Who got a second chance at true love."

The first trailer for Halftime dropped on May 18, showing an up close and personal portrait of the multi-hyphenate like never before.
Scenes from the trailer show Lopez crying as she received news about her Oscar snub for her performance in Hustlers. "It was hard. I just had a very low self-esteem," she says in a voiceover. "I had to really figure out who I was and believe in that and not believe anything else."
Fiancé Ben Affleck also made a brief cameo in the trailer. Appearing after a barrage of public and media criticism of Lopez, Affleck says in a sit-down interview, "I said to her once, 'Doesn't this bother you?' And she said, 'I expected this.'"
