Doctors Found 526 Teeth In A Boy's Mouth In India, And The Pictures Are A Nightmare
A 7-year-old boy in India had 526 teeth removed after going to Saveetha Dental College with jaw pain.
How many teeth do most humans have by adulthood? Thirty-two, thanks for asking.
You know those moments when you're actively trying to stop thinking about something, and then it feels physically impossible to do an-y-thing else? That's how I feel right now about teeth after hearing what happened to a 7-year-old boy in India who has the dental horror story to end all dental horror stories. Tooth fairies, beware!
This poor kid went to the hospital with a bunch of swelling in his jaw, and doctors realized he had way more teeth than normal. Hundreds more than normal. 526 total, to be exact. The hospital–Saveetha Dental College and Hospital in Chennai–quickly got to work and took him in for surgery where they removed a "bag like mass" which contained all the little extra tooth-like structures.
In case that's not all horrific enough for you, the hospital published pictures, since they say it's the first time this many teeth have been found in one person, and that's kind of a big deal in the dental community.

Once they got all the teeth out of the poor kid, they arranged them in a kind of foreboding spiral, because what this story really needed was a Night King-esque omen.
On a grossness scale ranging from Dr. Pimple Popper popping a butt cyst to live bees moving into your eyeballs to drink your tears, I'd say this is firmly a "thanks but no thanks" story, but to top it all off, the hospital says the boy likely lived with these extra teeth for years. His parents told them they noticed swelling when he was a 3-year-old, but he refused to be examined, which apparently got him out of it.
In conclusion, if you're overdue for a dentist appointment...now is a great time to make a quick phone call. Just saying.
