Do You Care What Your Fitness Tracker Looks Like?

Not everyone cares what their fitness tracker looks like. Nike’s Fuelband was a hit within the fashion community, despite its bulk, and David Sedaris just wrote quite passionately about his love of the FitBit in The New Yorker. But what if you do care? Tory Burch is to the rescue. The designer announced she’d be teaming up with FitBit earlier this year and the results of the collaboration are finally here.

There are two sporty silicone options printed with Burch’s logo that might speak to FitBit’s typical customer, but there are two brass pieces—a geometric pendant ($175) and cuff ($195) that won’t just fly at work, but will see you all the way through to a black tie dinner. You snap the tracker out of the FitBit Flex bracelet and plug it into the bracelet or pendant to track your steps taken, calories burned, and distance traveled as usual, without having to wear a silicone bracelet. Since you do have to buy the jewelry and the tech separately, you can fit the tracker back into its original bracelet at bedtime to monitor—and hopefully improve—your sleep patterns.

Last month, Diane Von Furstenburg released her collaboration with Google Glass and Apple’s hired Burberry’s Angela Ahrendts to lead their iWatch efforts, so if the gold fretwork isn’t your thing, know that this is just one of the first of many fashion and tech pairings.
