DIYer Upgraded Cement Floor With Cheap Peel-and-Stick Paper and She’s Quite Proud Of It

Redoing floors in a home can be extremely expensive but ugly flooring can really make or break a home. Floors and walls are first to catch your eye when entering a place. Admit it. We've all seen spaces and instantly balked at tacky wallpaper, outdated tiling, or a gag-worthy paint job. Sometimes, those details will make or break a house sale for people who aren't interested in fixer-uppers.

For those who do enjoy fixer-uppers or just opportunities to redesign, those upgrades can still be expensive depending on the materials used and who you hire to complete the job. TikToker and DIYer, Maggie McGaugh, found an affordable way to update the floor in her home. She shared the final results of the new flooring with her followers and poked fun at nay-sayers who called her "cheap" for going with peel-and-stick flooring.

"I wasn't about to spend $10,000 on [my] floor," she told her supporters. Check out her video below.

"It feels identical to real flooring," McGaugh shared with one follower.

The DIYer used this vinyl peel-and-stick paper from Amazon to update her cement floor with a hardwood look. It's available in a pack of 36 vinyl tiles that are waterproof, anti-slip, and designed to be easily removed without sticky residue.

This faster flooring option can work well for homeowners who don't feel like making an expensive investment in their floors. The easy removal makes it also an option for renters who want to make a change without sacrificing their security deposit.

McGaugh recommends you clean the floor "really well" before applying the peel-and-stick paper for a chance at achieving the best results.

Call it cheap, but it does look great!
