This DIY Black Bath Bomb Will Make You Too Scared to Ever Take a Bath Again

From Cosmopolitan

The original black bath bomb that started going viral weeks ago was the stuff of nightmares. Once the bomb was dropped in a bathtub full of water, it would immediately disintegrate and turn the once-clear water into terrifying black-as-night liquid. Your tranquil tub was now a place you wouldn't even want to dip your toe into for fear that something would pop out and eat you.

Apparently I'm the only one who felt this way because they're now all sold out and won't be restocked until Oct. 3 (perfect timing for Halloween).

If this sounds like something you'd be into but don't want to wait three months, YouTube blogger Corinne created a how-to video on her channel ThreadBanger that'll teach you everything you need to know about creating your own bathtub of horrors.

What you'll need:

  • 1/2 cup baking soda

  • 1/4 cup citric acid

  • 1/4 cup cornstarch

  • 1/4 cup epson salt

  • Activated charcoal powder

  • 3 teaspoons castor oil

  • 1 teaspoon essential oil

  • 1 teaspoon water

  • Black gel food coloring

Corinne tried a few different concoctions for the black bombs, but what she found worked most successfully was adding black gel food coloring rather than powdered black pigments.

Simply mix all the dry ingredients together and all the wet ingredients together in a separate bowl. Pour the wet ingredients in a spray bottle and slowly spray the dry ingredients to combine. Press your damp mixture into a mold. Once the bomb has set, toss it in your tub, and scare yourself to death.
