Diver Woos Octopus with Ring Showing Just How Smart the Creatures Are
Octopi are amazing problem solvers and have been known to navigate mazes and open jars. They also have impressive memories and are said to be as smart as most dogs. That's probably why the octopus in the following video was pretty excited to realize her human friend had brought her another gift.

How amazing is she? @Devil says, "Come back and she'll be wearing the ring!" @Katie had a similar experience and added, "I met an octopus a couple months ago and it stole my sunglasses-Didn’t know they were so strong! Also that Catalina water is so sharky to me." @Great adds, "Great now I want a pet octopus." @Libby asks, "If you gave her a ring or something shiny would she keep it? Could you go back and she would still have it? I’m imagining a cave of octopus treasure." The video creator replied, "They do!"
So many viewers suggested he watch My Octopus Teacher, a 2020 movie about a friendship formed between a filmmaker and an octopus in the South African kelp forest. It really is a beautiful movie (It won the Academy Award for best documentary!) so if you are looking for a lovely way to spend the afternoon (And your kids will enjoy it too), the movie is available here on Netflix. Get your tissues handy though! It's a tear-jerker!
