Distillery Breaks The Shot Ski World Record With 1,377 Participants

It's official. Breckenridge Distillery, located in, you guessed it, Breckenridge, Colorado, set the world record for longest shot ski this past week.

The Distillery gathered an impressive 1,377 people and 495 skis for the record.

The record-breaking shot ski took place on Breckenridge's main street and is a tradition for Breckenridge Distillery.

Year after year, the Distillery aims for and breaks the record during Ullr Fest, a Breckenridge event that celebrates all things snow—that's why so many of the revelers were wearing horned helmets. Ullr? Nordic traditions? It's a Viking thing, y'know.

In the shot glasses was a specialty 86-proof whiskey from Breckenridge Distillery, aptly called Ullr Blend. The high proof probably explains the numerous grimaces I spotted in the shot ski video—shots of whiskey start hurting once you graduate from college.

But that, presumably, isn't how Ullr Blend is supposed to be consumed. Save the fancy stuff for sipping, and keep the well-liquor around if shots are on the menu—unless you're trying to break the shot ski record at Ullr Fest, that is. In that situation, it's probably best to be swigging a beverage named after the god of snow.
