Disney's Latest Restaurant Comes With a Stellar View of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge
Disney World is home to plenty of fantastic dining options, but if you’re on the hunt for a table with the best view around, there’s nowhere better than one of its newest restaurants.
Over the summer, Disney opened the doors to Dahlia, located on the top floor of The Coronado Springs resort. The space, Disney Food Blog says, is inspired by the Disney short film "Destino." The film, which depicts a mortal falling in love with Chronos, the Greek god of time, was partially storyboarded by none other than artist Salvador Dali.
The food at the restaurant, Disney explains, is based on Dali's Spanish home cuisine. At the restaurant, guests can dig into a few delicious tapas plates including a traditional tortilla or an olive poached tuna dish, as well as plated dishes like calamari, roasted beets, mussels, and more.
Though delicious, Dahlia’s best feature has nothing to do with the food. Instead, it’s all about the sweeping views from outside its windows.
The rooftop lounge is perfectly situated to get a bird’s eye view of Disney World below. And, for all the Star Wars fans out there, it’s a prime destination to see the entirety of Disney's Hollywood Studios as well as the newly opened Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge from a distance.
Guests of Dahlia can order a cocktail or two from the bar (try the lounge’s signature Gran Gin Tonic), find a seat out on the expansive terrace, and sit and enjoy the view. The lounge is only open in the evenings from 4 p.m. to midnight, however, it opens its doors for prime viewing of the sunset and the park’s nightly fireworks show. Truly, this is one Dali experience where you really can believe that what you’re seeing is real, including a few Ewoks off in the distance.
