Disneyland's Acceptance and Treatment of Their Resident Cat Colony Is So Inspiring

You won't believe how big the cat colony is at Disneyland.

A cat colony refers to a group of cats that usually live outside with no set owner. These cats may have little to no human contact and individuals or organizations may provide food, shelter, and veterinary care for cat colonies through a practice called Trap-Neuter-Return, or TNR. @Wildatheartcats explains cat colonies and how there's a thriving cat colony of about 200 cats located in Disneyland.

This is so cool and we had no idea! @Biancacorona comments " Love TNR! We do the same at Home Depot and our nursery cats are better taken care of then my co-workers." @matttheradartech hilariously says "Catch me 'psss psss pss'ing' all over Disneyland California now." @Janjan adds "My cat was a Disneyland cat. My sister-in-law worked there and found him (He was a runt and dying) when she went into work. He was the best cat."

It's such a win-win. The cats have a safe home where they are well cared for and they help to control the rodent population in the park.

Inside the magic has more information about these Disneyland cats, "The idea worked so well that the cat population at Disneyland still exists with over 200 felines! The kittens received a forever home at the happiest place on earth, and the theme Park Guests are always surprised and glad to spot one of the felines around the Park. So, next time you are at Disneyland, keep an eye out for some whiskers, bushy fur tails, and significant cuteness."

We know what we will be looking for the next time we are at the happiest place on earth!
