While many of you know Zendaya Coleman primarily as the successful star of a string of popular comedy shows on the Disney Channel, for a whole segment of young people who have grown up watching Zendaya, she’s becoming not only a spokeswoman for their generation but also an inspiring entrepreneur — and someone who’s not just looking to take their money, but also to represent them in ways most businesses don’t bother with.

Most notably, Zendaya just launched a clothing line — nothing remarkably unique about that. However, she made sure to launch Daya by Zendaya in a wide range of sizes, from 0-22, and with a price range that doesn’t go any higher than $158. Thus far, reception has been largely positive.

As USA Today reports, “Zendaya’s rise has been accompanied by an explosion of young fans who connect with the artist’s messages about diversity and equality. These fans, who wear a vast array of clothing sizes and may not identify as either gender, were the people Zendaya says she had in mind when designing her line.”

When asked what drove her to this inclusive and affordable strategy, Zendaya is consistent in reminding people that her clothing is inspired by and intended to be worn by real people, not fashion models or surgically altered Instagram elites. “I wanted to make sure that everyone felt included, felt like they were thought about in the making of this line,” she told InStyle.

As for the clothing line, the pieces fall well into a mix-and-match, versatile style that agrees quite well with Zendaya’s own voice and standing as she has grown as a celebrity and spokeswoman. And her fans seem to love it. Appreciation on social media has been vocal and consistent all weekend as Zendaya has shown up at Daya pop-up shops in New York City and Chicago.

Witnessing the size of the crowds at her shops, and accounting for the inclusiveness, positivity, and affordability built into her business, it’s hard to see how Zendaya won’t continue to rise and succeed.
