All the Disney Night Costumes on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 32

The last episode of “Dancing With the Stars” Season 32, which aired on Tuesday night, saw the remaining contestants perform choreography to some of Disney’s most famous numbers. The theme also celebrated Disney’s 100th anniversary.

In honor of the Disney episode, the dancers got into character with costumes in respect of the musical numbers they performed to.

ABC, the network “Dancing With the Stars” is broadcast on, is owned by Disney.

Here, WWD takes a closer look at the costumes from Tuesday’s episode of “Dancing With the Stars.”

“The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”

Mauricio Umansky and Emma Slater were assigned the pasodoble to dance to with “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” from “Fantasia” as their song. Umansky donned an adaptation of Mickey Mouse’s signature costume from the film, including a red shirt, sparkling red tuxedo pants with gold stripes on the side and red dancing shoes. His ensemble was complete with a camp, pointy blue wizard hat with stars and a moon and a rope belt. Slater’s costume was inspired by the brooms from the Sorcerer’s Apprentice scene in the film, and she wore a brown catsuit with a bronze fringe skirt.

“Cinderella”

Mira Sorvino and Gleb Savchenko were assigned “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from “Cinderella.” Sorvino looked ready for the red carpet in a light blue gown with floral appliqués complemented by sparkling silver dance shoes. Savchenko channeled Prince Charming in an embroidered white jacket and white tuxedo pants with blue trim.

“Lady and the Tramp”

Peta Murgatroyd and Barry Williams were assigned the jazz genre for choreography and the song “He’s a Tramp” from “Lady and the Tramp.” Williams’ jazz dance ensemble had a “Guys and Dolls” feel to it with a pin-striped vest and pants paired with a black shirt, bowler hat and black shirt. Murgatroyd wore a sparkling rust brown dress with a fur trim skirt and brown shoes inspired by the title character, Lady.

“Aladdin”

Pop star Jason Mraz and his dance partner Daniella Karagach were assigned “A Whole New World” from “Aladdin” for their dance number. The duo performed a foxtrot, while Mraz wore a cream jacket with golden embroidered trim and a gold buckle paired with cream pants. Karagach wore a skin-baring blue ensemble with sheer sleeves, side cutouts on the bodice, a sequin lace top and a sequin skirt with thigh-high slits on both sides.

“The Lion King”

Lele Pons and Brandon Armstrong performed the rumba to “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from “The Lion King.” Although their costume wasn’t such a direct reference to “The Lion King,” they both wore white outfits with gold accents, as gold was prevalent in the animated color palette for the original film. Pons’ dress featured a gold sequin bodice with a white skirt. She paired the dress with gold sandals. Armstrong wore a light gold button-up shirt with white pants.

“Beauty and the Beast”

Alyson Hannigan and Sasha Farber turned one of Broadway’s most famous ensemble musical numbers “Be Our Guest” from “Beauty and the Beast” into a duet. Hannigan portrayed Lumière dressed in a gold jumpsuit with beaded sleeves and a beaded neckline. Her hair was styled in an updo reminiscent of a candle. Farber wore a gold embroidered tailcoat jacket with black pants.

“Toy Story”

Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold did the Quickstep to “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from “Toy Story.” Jowsey channeled the franchise’s signature character Woody as he wore a cow print vest, a yellow and blue plaid shirt, dark denim jeans, a red cowboy hat and a red bandanna scarf as a neckerchief. Arnold channeled Bo Peep and wore a dress with a pink bodice and a white and pink polka-dot skirt.

“Coco”

Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovsky were assigned “Un Poco Loco” from “Coco” one of Disney’s 21st-century movie titles. Gomez wore a Jalisco ribbon dress with a floral print waist, yellow skirt and blue top, while Chmerkovsky wore a black jacket, vest and pants with embroidered gold trim, complemented by a white shirt and blue necktie.

“Dumbo “

NFL player Adrian Peterson and his dance partner Britt Stewart performed a Viennese Waltz to “Baby Mine” from “Dumbo.” Although their costumes were less a direct reference to any of the film’s characters, they did play on the film’s blue and gray visual palette. Peterson wore a blue-gray suit while Stewart wore a dress with blue sequin embroidery.

“Frozen II”

Ariana Madix and Pasha Pashkov performed a contemporary dance number to “Into the Unknown” from “Frozen II,” another 21st-century Disney hit. Madix’s costume channeled one of the film’s main characters, Anna, known for her purple cape. Madix wore a midi dress with a purple sequin corset bodice and a sheer neckline and sleeves. Pashkov coordinated with his dance partner in purple.

“The Little Mermaid”

Charity Lawson channeled Ariel from “The Little Mermaid” in a sea green sparkling bra top and a sparkling ocean blue maxi skirt as Artem Chigvintsev channeled Prince Eric in a blue bolero jacket, white shirt, white trousers and black boots as the pair waltzed to the movie’s iconic song “Part of Your World.” Their dance performance is fitting in a year where the live-action “Little Mermaid” debuted.
