All Disney parks may be closed because of the COVID-19 outbreak, but that can't stop us from experiencing magic within the safety of our own homes. After putting smiles on faces everywhere when it shared its top-secret churro bites recipe last month, Disney further delighted fans by pulling back the curtain on other park favorites like its Dole Whips and grilled cheeses.

Whether you've visited a Disney park or not, you're likely familiar with one of the studio's oldest hits: Sleeping Beauty. This film is also a favorite of foodies everywhere, because one of its most iconic scenes features the three good fairies—Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather—attempting to bake a cake without using their magic. The brother of Twitter user @brittanysofty recreated the same cake for her birthday, and the result was truly wild.

Fans will remember that things didn't go according to plan for Fauna in the movie. When she volunteered to bake the cake, Merryweather immediately objected because of her lack of experience. "She's always wanted to, dear," Flora responded democratically, "and this is her last chance."

"And she's never cooked," Merryweather added. "All you do is follow the book," Flora retorted. Of course, following the book isn't necessarily simple for someone who's accustomed to magic. Instead of cracking eggs and folding them gently into her dough, Flora put them in whole—shells and all.

In the end, Fauna's planned layer cake looked a lot more like the Leaning Tower of Pisa than an actual cake, and she was forced to use a broom to prop it up. That's one of the details that Brittany's brother absolutely nailed. If you're interested in trying to bake a similar cake at home, you can check out this YouTube video from Disney Eats.
