I was already tempted to shell out big bucks to buy every last item from Disney's Rainbow Collection the second I laid eyes on it. And while it might be difficult to justify spending on Mickey Mouse merch I don't necessarily need, the limited-edition Pride line benefits a great cause, so basically, there's no excuse not to.

Disney's donating 10 percent of the proceeds from the new line to the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (more on what exactly they do in a minute), but the collection also includes a lot of must-haves. They've got the everyday essentials like a glitter travel tumbler, rainbow knee socks, and a tropical Mickey backpack, not to mention hats, sunglasses, and so much more.

Now it's time to chat about the special group involved. Like I mentioned, Disney is donating a portion of their Pride line profits to GLSEN, "the leading organization working to create safe & LGBTQ-inclusive K-12 schools," per their site.

The group, which is pronounced like "glisten," has actually been around for over 25 years. Their site goes on to explain:

GLSEN was founded in 1990 by a small, but dedicated group of teachers in Massachusetts who came together to improve an education system that too frequently allows its lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and question students to be bullied, discriminated against, or fall through the cracks.

They do all kinds of amazing work like providing resources for teachers and ensuring "comprehensive and inclusive safe school policies are considered, passed, and implemented." They've partnered with dozens of national educational organizations and have supported students in impacting their own schools.

So purchasing a plush Rainbow Mickey Mouse may not seem helpful to a larger degree, but every cent counts. Plus, it's next-level adorable, so...
