A Disney+ movie is drawing widespread derision for using CGI actors. In a scene from Prom Pact that’s now going viral, we see a shot of a high school crowd featuring several poorly rendered virtual extras.

It seems the movie used these computer-generated actors to try and subtly fill out the audience size, but viewers have noticed. - and it didn't take a particularly eagle eye.

@NoveltyRaging tweeted: “Someone’s Halloween costume is going to be Creepy Clapping Prom Pact Girl. (No, not me.)

@pogbogfrog writes: “I worked as an extra on prom pact quite a bit, I don’t remember being asked to work on this day…that could’ve been me, but nah it’s easier to just put cg abominations there instead 🙃 #SAGAFTRAStrong”

Even Avengers Infinity War co-director Joe Russo weighed in, writing from his account @joerussotweets: “”We can save so much money using AI here and no one will EVER notice!””

It’s never a good look to use CGI extras while actors are demanding fairer wages, especially given that's the exact thing SAG-AFTRA is striking against (and partly why the SAG-AFTRA talks were suspended).
