The news around the COVID-19 outbreak is constantly changing, but information about food safety and how to keep yourself healthy is crucial right now. Here is a comprehensive list on the foods you should be stocking up on during this period of social distancing, as well as information about your local grocery stores’ changing hours, an explanation of “no-contact delivery,” and a guide on how to help your community and its businesses throughout closures.

In light of the current COVID-19 outbreak, Disney announced it was donating thousands of ponchos and masks to hospitals and healthcare professionals who need them.

In a blog post, Disney explained that it had donated 150,000 rain ponchos to MedShare, which is "a humanitarian aid organization, for distribution to hospitals in need." You might be wondering why ponchos? Disney explained that nurses around the country are finding that ponchos are a way to protect their clothing while treating patients, while also freeing up gowns.

In addition, Disney also donated more than 100,000 N95 masks to the states of New York, California, and Florida in light of mask shortages around the country.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is unlike anything we’ve seen before,” said MedShare CEO and President Charles Redding: “We have to find ways to pool our resources and work together to help the healthcare workers who are doing their very best to treat patients and contain COVID-19. We appreciate Disney partnering with us to support hospitals and healthcare workers on the frontlines.”

This is just the latest instance of Disney giving back during the coronavirus pandemic. When Disney decided to close its parks around the world last month, Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida each donated excess food to their local food banks.

The company recently announced that its U.S. parks would be closed indefinitely, but they also assured people at the top of their most recent blog post that they "continued to focus on ways we can make a difference during this time."
