Sonic Drive-In is changing up its fries for the first time in a decade. In May, it will launch Groovy Fries, a new fry meant to offer both improved taste and functionality with grooves "made for perfect dipping."

Accompanying the fries will be a new Groovy Sauce, featuring the savory flavors of creamy ranch and herbs combined with the mild spice of sriracha.

"Our Sonic tots are iconic, but we thought it was time to give them some competition," Mackenzie Gibson, vice president of culinary and menu innovation at Sonic, said in a news release. "With the new Groovy Fries, we're redefining what a fast-food fry can be and giving folks another reason to say yes, I would like fries with that!"

Speaking of fries, Taco Bell brought back its nacho fries for the 11th time but added a spicy twist.

The Secret Aardvark nacho fries ($4.99) are topped with an all-new zesty Serrabanero Ranch Sauce, crafted from green tomatoes, roasted tomatillos, serrano and green habanero peppers blended with savory ranch.

The dish also includes slow-roasted chicken, a three-cheese blend, reduced-fat sour cream, nacho cheese sauce and pico de gallo.

"Secret Aardvark's dedication to bold flavors and culinary innovation makes them the perfect partner for Taco Bell and our iconic Nacho Fries," Liz Matthews, Global Food Innovations Officer shared in a news release. "Together, we're taking flavor exploration to new heights, ensuring our fans experience the ultimate taste sensation with every bite."
