New year, new TV! Everyone’s show schedules are already filled to the brim with things to watch, plus we can’t miss an episode of The Pioneer Woman!

But if we’re all being honest here: The more TV, the better. Which is why the new Discovery+ streaming service is the gift you need to start 2021 off right. What exactly is Discovery+, you might ask? Find out below!

What is Discovery+?

Discovery+ is the latest streaming service to hit the market, and it’s a good one. It’ll have tons of programs from your favorite networks including HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Discovery, Animal Planet, History, Lifetime, the Travel Channel, and many more. You’ll have access to over 55,000 episodes across 2,500 shows. And yes, one of those is The Pioneer Woman. Yay!

There will also be original series, too. Ben Napier’s Home Town spinoff, for example, will be available on Discovery+. Ree’s Food Network buddies Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis will have their own travel show called Bobby and Giada in Italy, too. Discovery+ members will also get a first look at what Chip and Joanna Gaines have planned for their new network.

All to say, there’s a lot happening here and you won’t want to miss it!

Can I get Discovery+ for free?

If you’re a Verizon customer, you might be eligible to get Discovery+ at no cost for up to 12 months. You’ll have to visit the site for more details, though.

Otherwise, Discovery+ isn’t free, but you can choose a plan that works best for you. They start at $4.99/month, with an ad-free version at $6.99/month. Considering all the yummy recipes, home design ideas, and guilty pleasure reality TV they offer, it could definitely be worth it.

When does Discovery+ come out?

That's the best part: It releases on January 4, 2021. Which means when you’re done with all that holiday shopping and cooking, you can relax with hours of entertainment.

Happy New Year, indeed!
