Discover collectibles by your favorite brands from trading cards to apparel

There’s no better way to honor your favorite video game or character than with a collectible. From figurines to trading cards and wearable merch, there’s no shortage of gaming swag. But with so much to choose from, it can be hard to know where to press start on your gaming collectibles journey. Luckily, on this episode of Game On, host DJ Steph sits down with Jasmine James aka Cutie Pie Sensei (@CutiePieSensei), a cosplayer and founder of sustainable cosplay swimwear brand, Fira X Wear, who shares her favorite gaming merch go-tos.

Jasmine shares that she first discovered cosplay at MomoCon, a “geek culture convention” in Atlanta, Georgia that brings together fans of anime, comics, video games, tabletop games, and more. “I was at home,” Jasmine says of her first time at MomoCon. “I saw people in costumes and stuff and I was like, ‘I need to do this.’”

When it comes to her own personal collection of gaming collectibles, Jasmine shares that she has two types of items that are really special to her: lightsabers and plushies. The cosplayer shows off only a few of her many lightsabers, and proudly displays her Mario Kart item plushies which include a red shell and spiny shell.

For gamers wanting to start their own collections with items like trading cards or posters, Jasmine shares her recommendations of places to find coveted items. “Whenever I buy special edition stuff, a lot of times it is at conventions because a lot of times when you go, they will have a limited edition item,” says the cosplayer. For figurines, Jasmine recommends Good Smile Company.

From rocking a t-shirt with your favorite game on it, to having a wall of rare figurines in your home, it’s up to you how you celebrate your most-treasured games, and there are plenty of options.
