Have You Experienced Microaggressions About Your Disability At Work?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 26% of American adults have some form of a disability. That's roughly one in four of us.

So, if you've been treated differently at work because of your disability, we want to hear your story.

Maybe you disclosed to your manager that you're autistic, but now you kind of regret it. Even though you're great at what you do, they've started to treat you differently and it seems like they're always talking down to you.

Or perhaps you use a wheelchair and you really wish that your coworkers would stop trying to push you in and out of the elevator without even asking if you actually want their help in the first place. If you really wanted assistance, you'd let them know.

Or maybe you have Type 1 diabetes and need to time your meals carefully. Unfortunately, you work in retail and your manager just doesn't get why it's so stressful for you when they switch up the break schedule all willy nilly. You've tried to explain it a thousand different ways, but they just keep telling you to "be a team player," whatever that means.
