"Dirty Dancing" is Shimmying Back into Theaters for Valentine’s Day

This Valentine’s Day, nobody is putting our favorite ‘80s love story in a corner.

That’s right. Dirty Dancing, the iconic movie with a foot-tapping soundtrack to match, is returning to theaters for two days only. On Sunday, February 10, 2019, and Wednesday, February 13, 2019, Fathom Events and Lionsgate are teaming up to bring the timeless romance back to the big screen—giving fans everywhere the chance to have the time of their lives. (Sorry, we couldn’t resist.)

For the uninitiated, the beloved 1987 movie chronicles the tempestuous romance that unfolds between a guest and staff member at a Catskills resort in the summer of 1963. The guest is sweet, innocent Baby (Jennifer Grey) and she falls for dance instructor, older, street-smart Johnny (Patrick Swayze), a move of which her father does not approve. When Baby volunteers to fill in as Johnny's dance partner, 17-year-old Baby learns a lot more than the salsa.
