Calling all Swifties! — It's time to refresh your news feed from the Taylor Swift Carolina song news and break out your best skater skirt and glittery bomber jacket because it looks like 1989 (Taylor's Version) is on its way.

Before you DM us, saying "Taylor hasn't announced anything yet," we are here to say that we know — yet some of her recent moves have us investigating day and night, speculating that the re-recorded version of Taylor's country to pop transition album may not just be in our "Wildest Dreams."

Let's take a rewind first. We all know that Swift dropped the redo of "Wildest Dreams" back in September 2021, but nothing more came of that. It wasn't until one eagled-eyed fan shouted out a tweet on TikTok saying that the red car featured in the 10-minute long "All Too Well" short film is a 1989 Mercedes Benz. And while some may write this off as a happy coincidence, true fans know that nothing Taylor does is accidental.

Still not convinced? "Can't stop won't stop being cryptic and weird,” she replied to the fan’s TikTok about the car theory. “That’s just the beginning it's gonna be a fun week 😆😆😆😆"

And while some Easter eggs have been tossed around these past couple of months, the inclusion of "This Love (Taylors Version)" in Amazon Prime's The Summer I Turned Pretty and the 1989 hints in two acceptance speech clips shown at Las Culturistas Culture Awards put on by the podcast Las Culturistas and hosted by comedians Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers have us thinking that all the rumors might be true.

Grab your detective hat — we're doing a 'lil investigation🕵🏻♀️ 🔍:

She mentioned the "Wildest Dreams/Enchanted" mashup

While accepting the award for "Best Tayla Swiff," Tay mentioned a not-so-long forgotten, iconic mashup she did of her two songs "Wildest Dreams" and "Enchanted" which she performed on her 1989 World Tour according to Billboard. Does this mean we'll get a studio recording of the iconic mix? Only time will tell!

She's been baking

Well, not exactly. Swift’s first acceptance video of the night opened with footage of her walking to her oven, and taking out a baking sheet. She made cookies, right? — Wrong! Just a glass of white wine. Long-time Swifties were quick to point out that the moment may have been a reference to Swift’s 2014 listening party for 1989. Vanity Fair reported that the singer celebrated the album by baking cookies with a couple hundred of her closest fans.

She hung up the 1989 "Secret Session" sign

Speaking of that cookie baking sesh, Taylor pointedly walked past a chalkboard sign that says "1989 Secret Session Nashville," during one of the acceptance speech clips. Fans immediately recognized that this sign made an appearance back in 2014 at her original listening party. Totally intentional, right?!

She pinned her hair to appear shorter

Taylor has been a known hair chameleon in her career, ranging from pink tips and long curly locks to chin-length cuts with thick bangs. For the 1989 cover art, Tay rocked a lob with her signature forehead bangs. Recently, the songstress has worn her blonde strands long, so seeing her hair clipped back in a faux short hair sitch got Twitter abuzz. Fans quickly compared Swift's 'do from the Tribeca Film Festival on June 11 to the Las Culturistas Culture Awards appearance hairstyle, cueing a game of "Spot The Differences."

She's wearing light blue

While her top is no seagull-printed sweater, fans were quick to point out that the light blue vest she was sporting fit in with the color palette of 1989, with one Twitter user saying "IT IS BLUE, Y'ALL. 1989 TV IS REALLY NEXT!!!!!!"

She debuted a 1989-esque merch collection

Last but certainly not least, Taylor currently has a summer merch line that includes references to and follows the same color scheme as her 1989 era. If you wanna be super prepared for the possible impending launch, check out a few of our fave picks from the collection below:

So, with all signs pointing to Taylor dropping new music just in time for the height of summer, Swifties everywhere should be on high alert for the next Taylor’s Version installment. Hopefully, Taylor will fill the "Blank Space" in our hearts with her new "Style" of 1989!
