There are a few things you always hope to see on an award show red carpet: massive diamonds, jumbo ruffles, expensive hairdos, and over-the-top makeup. And your girl Sofia Carson arrived at the 2019 Golden Globes wearing all of the above – and then some.
Honestly though, Sofia could have showed up in leggings and a hoodie and still nabbed the award for Best Dressed. Why? Because her gown, hair, and makeup weren't the best part of the look.
What really makes this ensemble amazing is the hidden detail you probably didn't even notice. Instead of wearing a traditional fancy handbag, the Descendents star chose to carry a much more important accessory: a Time's Up ribbon.
At last year's Golden Globes, almost every attendee chose to wear black to honor the Time's Up movement, which aims to end sexual harassment and inequality in the workplace. This year, the carpet was a rainbow, but Sofia chose to keep the focus where it matters: on the cause.
