There’s a new agent on set!

NCIS fans are a pretty particular bunch. They absolutely love the crime drama starring Mark Harmon, Wilmer Valderrama, Sean Murray, and Emily Wickersham, and aren’t often pleased when there’s a cast shakeup. So hang onto your hats, folks.

Wilmer, who plays Torres on the show, posted a photo to Instagram introducing his followers to a new face. “Ladies & gentlemen….meet Federal Agent Sawyer,” he wrote. “Welcome to the #NCIS team.”

Wait….what?!!? The actor’s name is Zane Holtz, and he’s super dreamy, for sure. But what does it all mean? Is he replacing Sloane? Is he replacing…someone else? We need answers!

We know McGee likely isn’t going anywhere, because he already survived Gibbs shooting him earlier in the season and is currently recuperating from it. Maria Bello is preparing to exit any day now, so a few astute fans thought this might be the answer to the gaping Sloane-shaped in our hearts. It’s also possible that Zane is only making one appearance as a guest star, and all of this worrying is for nothing.

Another theory we're trying to ignore is that Agent Sawyer is coming to shake things up between Torres and Emily’s character, Bishop. We’ve been waiting too long for those two to get together, though, so that better not happen. Do you hear us NCIS writers!!!?

Zane’s IMDB page doesn’t have any info on how many episodes he’s filming for the CBS procedural yet, but it does show off his many other accomplishments. He played KO Kelly in Katy Keene and Riverdale, and Austin Tucker in Make It Or Break It. He and Wilmer also starred in the vampire series From Dusk Till Dawn together, so this NCIS reunion is a happy one for them both.

It’s too soon to say how Agent Sawyer will affect the NCIS cast, but here’s hoping it’s not too dramatic. 😬
