Did you know you can sleep over at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park?
ESCONDIDO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Ever wonder what it would feel like to camp out in the wild? The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is offering that opportunity.
“Roar and Snore Safari” is a sleepover program that features camp activities, an after-hours look at wildlife, guided walks, s’mores around the campfire, dinner, an evening snack and breakfast the next morning, according to the zoo’s website.
Guests will stay in either a Classic, Vista or Premium tent.
Classic tents feature vinyl-covered tent floors and sleeping pads for up to five campers. The cost is $160 per person and $30 per infant (age 0-2).
Vista tents feature cots and a view that looks out to giraffes, rhinos, antelope and more in the African Plains. There’s a maximum six person occupancy per tent, and single campers pay a minimum two-person price as admission is separate and required. The cost is $200 per person and $30 per infant (age 0-2).
Premium tents feature a queen-size bed and two cots. They can fit up to five people per tent. Single campers pay a minimum two-person price as admission is separate and required.

There are four types of age-appropriate sleepover categories including all ages, adults only, girl scouts and school and youth nights.
If you are looking to upgrade the experience, try the Supreme Roar & Snore package. It includes ziplining into camp on the zoo’s 2/3-mile Flightline Safari, using night vision binoculars to watch wildlife of Africa and Asia, reserved VIP viewing of wildlife ambassador encounters and an up-close view of wildlife from the back of covered, open-air safari trucks. The cost is $332 and up per person for ages 8 and up.
