Did Jeanette See Kate in "Cruel Summer"?
*Major spoilers for season 1, episode 3 of Cruel Summer below!*
Things in Skylin, Texas are getting more and more interesting as we slowly start to uncover the big mystery of Cruel Summer. As Jeanette and Kate prepare for their big battle in court, it looks like Jeanette has been hiding a big secret from everyone around her.
In episode three, it's been revealed that she's been back to Mr. Harris' house multiple times after she originally broke in after episode 1. Which brings us back to the big question in the series: Did Jeanette really see Kate while she was trapped in Mr. Harris' house? Or is Kate making it all up?
Based off of everything we've seen so far, it still seems like it might be a little too early to figure out what really happened. However, some fans have already come up with some good theories that might make it seem like Kate really saw Jeanette, but not the other way around.
As we already know, it's likely that Kate saw Jeanette but through a two-way mirror. Kate is able to see everything because she's on the other side of it, while Jeanette just sees her own reflection.

While this theory seems the most possible, it still brings up the question as to how Kate got Jeanette's necklace in the first place. In episode 3, Jeanette says that she threw her necklace out after she had a falling out with Mallory who gave it to her in the first episode.
Someone pointed out that there's a good chance it might not be actually Jeanette's necklace in the first place based off of the timeline that we've seen so far.

There's also another running theory that Mallory was so angry at Jeanette due to their broken friendship that she might have planted the necklace somewhere for Kate to find.
Mallory’s hatred toward Jeanette is odd to me, I don’t think Jeanette saw Kate that day but remember Kate saw Jeanettes necklace after yoga so I think Mallory planted her necklace in the basement AFTER the principal abducted Kate bc he hadn’t even moved in when Jeanette was there

While these theories haven't been proven true just yet, they are definitely very convincing. Guess we'll have to keep watching to find out the truth.
